That is IF you believe what Byrne says, seen as that article is basically just bits from his book where he makes these claims against a man who cannot reply. Reading his book is a lot like listening to the pissed up old soak in the corner of the pub who makes all sorts of claims about his past to anyone who will listen.

Tommy Byrne was not. I have read his book and he comes across as a bitter man who blames everyone except himself for not making it in F1 and seems fairly spiteful and jealous of those who did.
